Description
This recorded webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the long-term and late effects of childhood blood cancers and their treatment. Faculty will focus on the importance of following a care plan and working in consultation with the treating pediatrician and/or family physician in a survivorship program. Survivorship guidelines for the childhood blood cancer patient population and resources for survivors and their families will be reviewed.
Target Audience
Pediatricians, family physicians, oncologists, pediatric hematologists-oncologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and oncology social workers involved in the care of patients with hematologic malignancies.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Describe an overview of long-term and late effects of treatment for childhood blood cancers
- Explain the importance of following a care plan, consultation in a survivorship program and communication between the treating pediatrician/family physician and family
- Address survivorship guidelines, including screening and management strategies
- Identify strategies and resources to support survivors, including as they continue their education

Physician Designation
The Survivorship Care for Childhood and Adolescent Blood Cancer program is approved for 1.0 prescribed credit hour by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Please complete the evaluation to obtain enduring credit.
Registered Nursing Designation
Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under Provider Number CEP 5832 to award 1.0 continuing education contact hour through the California Board of Registered Nursing.
The program content has been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and is acceptable for recertification points. Please click here for test blueprint and points information.
ONCC review is only for designating content to be used for ILNA points and is not for NCPD accreditation. NCPD programs must be formally approved for contact hours by an acceptable accreditor/approver of nursing NCPD to be used for recertification by ONCC. If the NCPD provider fails to obtain formal approval to award contact hours by an acceptable accrediting/approval body, no information related to ONCC recertification or ILNA categories may be used in relation to the program.
Social Work Designation
Survivorship Care for Childhood and Adolescent Blood Cancer, Course #3221, is approved by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program to be offered by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as an individual course. Individual courses, not providers, are approved at the course level. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. ACE course approval period: 01/20/2021-01/20/2023. Social workers completing this course receive 1 Clinical continuing education credits.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0117. LLS maintains responsibility for this program. Social workers will receive 1 CE clinical contact hour for this activity.
All continuing education credits are provided free of charge.
Participants must attend the webinar in its entirety and submit the online evaluation form to earn credit and successfully complete the post- test. Once submitted, the certificate will be automatically generated as a PDF online.
