Rye Brook, NY, (September 25,2018) - As The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night fundraising campaign continues to beat growth records, leading national companies and brands are signing on to help light the path to cancer cures and give hope to cancer patients nationwide. Light The Night brings light to the darkness of cancer through 140 inspirational evening walks across the US and Canada each fall. Through Light The Night, thousands of national partners, sponsors and corporate teams, including Burlington Stores, Pharmacyclics, Janssen, Walgreens and Wawa, are helping LLS fund lifesaving research and support for patients battling cancer.
“Light The Night is a series of powerful and unique fundraising campaigns for LLS; they bring together families, co-workers and communities walking with illuminated lanterns to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the disease and to shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments,” said LLS president and chief executive officer, Louis J. DeGennaro, Ph.D. “The Light The Night campaign is the perfect platform for industry partners, as it allows them to bring their messages of support directly to blood cancer communities across the country.”
For the 17th consecutive year, the national off-price retailer, Burlington Stores, will serve as the #1 National Corporate Partner and Honored Friend of the Light The Night campaign. Over the past 16 years, Burlington has raised more than $32 million to help fund innovative cancer research and patient services by engaging its generous customers to donate $1 or more at checkout. In addition, thousands of its associates have participated in Light The Night walks across the country. This year’s campaign is hosted in Burlington’s more than 645 store locations nationwide, and will run from September 9 through December 1. Consumers can visit Burlington Stores’ website (www.Burlington.com) to find a store near them to shop and donate.
As LLS’s National Presenting Sponsor of Survivorship and Hope, Pharmacyclics and Janssen are committed to working with LLS through its Light The Night fundraising campaign to shine a spotlight on what it means to be a cancer survivor.
